MR. RICHARDS GREW UP IN GREENSURG, KANSAS. HE EARNED AN ASSOCIATES DEGREE AT GARDEN CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND TRANSFERRED TO KANSAS STATE UNVERSITY. HE EARNED HIS BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN EDUCATION FROM K-STATE IN 1975, AND A MASTER DEGREE IN 1976.
A SEASONED VETEREN OF THE CLASSROOM, MR. RICHARDS HAS TAUGHT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY LEVELS. MR. RICHARDS HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH OUT OF THE COUNTRY AT UNION HIGH SCHOOL IN PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI. MR. RICHARDS HAS HELD HIS CURRENT POSITION AT ANDERSON COUNTY JR.-SR. HIGH SCHOOL SINCE 2005. HE ALSO SPONSORS THE ANDERSON COUNTY SCHOLAR BOWL TEAM.
DENNIS AND HIS WIFE SHANNA ENJOY ACTING AND DIRECTING COMMUNITY THEATER PROJECTS IN GARNETT. THEY ENJOY SPENDING TIME WITH THEIR FAMILY AND GRANDCHILDREN AT THEIR COUNTRY HOME NEAR GREELEY KANSAS.
