I graduated from Anderson County High School in 2007. I continued my education at Ottawa University and received my Bachelor’s degree in 2011 in Psychology. I decided to pursue a graduate degree and was awarded a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The University of Kansas in 2013 and a Master’s in School Counseling from FHSU in 2017.
This is my 6th year in education and my first year at Anderson County. I have previously worked as a school counselor, and am eager to be in the ACE Academy position this year!
My husband, Evan, is also from Garnett. After spending some time in the Navy, we feel very lucky that he has a great job as a maintenance technician at East Kansas Agri-Energy. We have one daughter, Addyson, who is a 6th grader at GES. Our family is rounded out by our sweet animals. We have two dogs, Severus and Albus, and one crazy cat, Meowfoy.
Our family stays pretty active with Addyson’s activities. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, softball, 4H, and is our kid chef. We love to travel, eat great food, and enjoy most sports. In particular, we are fairly obsessed with Kansas football (crazy, I know) and spend the majority of our fall weekends in Lawrence. This year, I am training for a marathon so I can often be found dragging on the rail trail trying to get some miles in.
